We were lucky enought to keep Lexi recently and she and Macy had the best time. Macy of course took right over and pretended for a while she was her little sister. All that was good until she wanted her Puppy and some alone time with HER Mommy AND not to mention holding her Daddy's hand in church, that was NOT cool Lexi. I had to laugh because they were so good together and Macy played with her so well but of course she had a great little friend.

Well it is official...Macy Elizabeth Fennell was born at 4:43 pm 7 years ago today! It was the most amazing day of my life and one I remember vividly. Today...we celebrated your birthday baby. You got a new bike for your birthday and you are loving it. I ALLOWED your Grandma to get you a DQ Blizzard maker. I say "Allowed" because if that machine makes a blizzard that taste anything close to a DQ Blizzard we are in BIG trouble. It was one of the few things she asked for. She also got a real telescope and we can't wait to try it out!

Today I went to the dermatologist to have a suspicious looking frekle removed and while I was there I asked the doctor to give me some advice as to a good sunscreen for Macy. She took one look at her and said...she is too dark, you need to have her wear the long sleeve swimwear she called them something...they have a name, did you know that? UGLY is what I would call them. Anyway, I was feeling like mother of the year at this point and assured her I ALWAYS use spf 50 on her and that is the truth. She flew out to begin getting stuff ready to snip on me and the nurse came in and I began to question her about what she puts on her kids. She looked at Macy and said she just looks like she tans easily and suggested uping my spf. She gave me some samples and said the doctor always says kids should wear the "swim clothing". So we celebrated and went out and bought her this rockin new bikini...this should do it, don't you think?

I was so proud of Macy today. She asked me a few months ago about being in a pageant...and I have SO put this off since it is BIG business. Aunt Lissa called a few weeks ago and told me about this pageant and we entered and rented a dress. I was so glad someone else did her hair and makeup because she sat for that lady and did not make a sound. If we were doing it....drama, I am sure. She got really nervous and walked across stage by herself life she had a fire under her booty but she still won and we were two proud parents. I still stress to her it is more important to be beautiful on the inside and that was the first thing her Daddy reminded her. BUT a little bling, bling it nice, right? Oh and did I mention she won prettiest dress? That is why it looks like she has two crowns on...she does!

Macy got some money for Christmas and let me say...is was burning a hole in her pocket. We searched Wal Mart today for some thing to spend some of her money on. She decided on a "100" piece set of plastic food, tea cups, etc. She has had several sets of this stuff and it slowly disappears (if I step on it, it is history). Anyway, I tried to give her kitchen set away the other day so i guess she decided to play with it some more. She opened her Macy's Diner today and David and I were her best customers. One time we were in there at the same time and it was so funny because he was trying to get her to take his order and get him a refill while she was taking my order. She would stop with my order and then take care of him....he would say a good waitress would say just a minute sir. I then complained about the "rude" customer in the restaurant. Anyway...it was fun and David even left real tips...me just paper.

Well after weeks of waiting if finally happened. David pulled it out for her and we had "little" drama. She screemed when she saw all the blood and she won't even discuss pulling the other one out. The tooth fairy left $5 dollars and boy was that a chore...didn't expect the tooth to come out that night and 5 miles from the nearest ATM...can be a problem for the tooth fairy.

Our trip to Savannah was lots of fun last night. We were picked up for the carriage ride at City Market. I hadn't been there in years and forgot how lively and fun it was. It was beautifully decorated and music was playing so we enjoyed the music while we waited. U can't tell in this picture but the horse kept biting my coat sleeve..guess I was getting a little too close.

I have a hard time with the fact that my BABY is growing fast and she loves to dress like a big girl now. I loved dressing her as a baby and still love to see her all dolled up. BUT she looks so grown up now in her big girl clothes. We went out to eat Friday night and her Daddy actually suggested we go in Gymboree...BAD idea! Boy does he have a lot to learn :0)

P.S. Sorry about the fire ash on the fireplace. We had our first fire last night and I haven't had a chance to vacuum it up yet....didn't want TD to think it was dust..hee hee

Macy loves to snuggle with her Daddy when he is home in the AM. He usually leaves very early but when he doesn't, this is what you will find in the morning at our house. I drag her out of bed and then she usually catches another 10 minutes like this....When she was a baby, you could barely see her all snuggled under his arms but now...he is starting to disappear.

We enjoyed trick or treat at our usual spot...Jeannie and Scott's. We usually gather there to watch the GA/Fla game, snack and then trick or treat. This year was no exception, as usual, the Dawgs lost but at least it was a good game. Jeannie and Scott are Fla. fans so we have some innocent rivalry and I just knew I was going to get to brag this year. I even brought him a box of tissues so he could wipe his tears!

When Lexi and Macy get together....good times are had by all. We were blessed to have several friends come to play yesterday. Lexi and Wanda and Jennifer, Madie and Emma. We enjoyed the sun, pool and some good snacks. Thanks for coming...we enjoyed it.

Annual Jekyll Trip

We just got back from a relaxing trip to Jekyll. We enjoyed a day at the beach and then a trip to Summer Waves (sorry no pictures of that). We got up this morning and had breakfast and then off to the Jekyll Island Sea Turtle Rescue place and it was fabulous. It was so educational and Macy, Daddy and I all loved it. It was so cool to see the turtles up close and to see them working on them. I actually teared up at some of them that are hurt and will probably never go back out into the wild. We got to see hatchlings and one they rescued from a nest with paralyized front fins. They were giving her therapy and it was cool. We took Bella and that was an adventure in itself! Now...I must sort through laundry and get ready for the week.

We took Macy out to eat last night for her birthday. It was her choice of course and she chose Texas Road House at the Mall. She looked forward to them singing happy birthday to her and they did it up right. They brought out a saddle and put her up on it and showed her how to wave her napkin (rodeo style). Then...anounced to the restaurant that she was 6 today. It was followed up with a yee...haw and a hot fudge brownie. Happy Birthday Baby, we love you to the moon and back!

I can't believe Macy started first grade this week. She was so excited and did not seem very nervous at all. We were so proud of her. She seems to be loving it and told me today (Saturday) I can't wait till Monday...why? Because of school of course! I am usually saying...can't wait till Friday!

My "BaBy"

Macy will turn 6 on the 6th of August but we decided to have her party yesterday. It was fun but HOT. She had a great turn out for such a hot day. She was up off and on all night on Friday night from the excitement. When we layed down she said...."The birthday party girl is going to sleep." Mrs. Debbie at Debbie Cakes made her "hula" cake and it was beautiful and delicious.

A Crazy week!

We have been crazy busy this week. First...we started VBS on Sunday night from 6-9 and I worked in the kitchen. My neighbor and I planned and cooked food for 150 people all week long. Then...on Monday Macy started Cheernastics camp at Cheryl Brett's dance studio from 9-4 everyday. I dropped her off and then went to work at the school until about 1:00 then ran home and tried to rest or get laundry done, etc. Then, I was off to pick her up at 4:00 and then right to church to cook and we would get home about 9:30 and then we would shower and straight to bed. We would sleep till 8:15 or so and then jump up get ready and out the door by 8:45. It was crazy busy but Macy enjoyed camp and VBS so it was worth it. They gave us a show of what they learned on Friday in both cheer camp and VBS. I have posted a few pictures..Macy is still working on those cartwheels but has the hip bop down!

We had a great week at the beach and some beautiful weather. I took very few pictures this week because I really hated taking my big camera down to the beach because I always feared that it would get wet or sandy. I always found a half opened drink pouch in my bag and I just couldn't take the risk. Anyway..I got some good pictures the first couple of days and then I just didn't stress about it afterwards. Macy had a great week and enjoyed the beach until about Thursday. She had a melt down and was just plain tired. We had taken our bikes so after an hour ride on the bike trail and then the beach she just couldn't take much more. The last night we planned to go out to eat pizza and then play putt putt but after the melt down and almost packing up to come home I decided we better just order in and relax. Macy was asleep by 7:30 and then I was able to pack up. I posted a few of my favorites! Our family picture needs a little Lissa work before I post it. I love this picture of David and Macy!

This time tomorrow I will be sleeping to the sound of waves! I can't wait and Macy is SO ready. She's had her bags packed for two days and of course I had to go back through it...girl tries to bring everything and not much of what I wanted. Anyway...bags are packed, car is detailed, house is clean. (am I the only one who won't leave on vacation without a spotless house? I have even been wiping down baseboards??)
I will try to post some pictures from the beach at least once!! I've got lost of relaxing to do...seems school is slipping up on me!

Macy came out of the playroom dressed in her doctor stuff, complete with medicine dropper, pens, pencils, name tag, stethescope (can't spell it), bracelet, shoes and she even pulled her hair back. She had a clip board to write down our symptoms. Daddy was first to get his check up...had to breath deep and take some medicine. She came out of the bathroom with a dropper full of water and wanted me to take it..I refused because I didn't see where she got the water so she finally talked David into taking it. I couldn't get over how cute she was...maybe she will stick with being a doctor????

Skillet Lasagna

I came across this recipe through someone else's blog and decided to try it. It was delicous and EASY to make. I love dishes that only require me to dirty one dish. I served it with fresh squash and zucci with onions. My bunch loved it.

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

1 clove minced garlic

1 1/2 cups diced tomatoes, undrained

1 1/4 cups water

1 8-ounce can tomato sauce

1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes

1 teaspoon dried basil leaves

1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves

1 teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups bow tie pasta, uncooked ( i used 3 cups ....2 cups of small bow tie and 1 cup of penne)
1 cup cottage cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Dash basil, pepper

In large skillet, brown beef with onions and garlic; drain. Add tomatoes, water, tomato sauce, parsley, basil, oregano, and salt. Mix well. Stir in uncooked pasta. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover, simmer for 20 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring once. Stir in cottage cheese. Cover with and Parmesan cheese, and sprinkle in basil and pepper to taste if desired. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.

I added 1 cup of mozerella cheese and used penne pasta and bow tie. I also added a little more water than it called for.

I decided to color and highlight my hair...it was NOT because my husband suggested it, it was NOT because I was starting to fight the grays and it was NOT because I had 3 different colors coming through naturally in my hair! I has been years since I put anything on my hair but I am happy and I am trying it out straight again...we'll see how long that last. (too much work for me)

Sunday nght David was watching kick boxing. The man loves fishing, hunting and boxing...100% MaN. Anyway, Macy came in and starting watching she kicks a little bit and then says...."I'm going to get my wrestling clothes on!" We laughed because she came back in with tight swim shorts that I had in the give away box and her "sports bra" and says, "Daddy, I'm going to get you with the upper cut.". Oh...my what a little princess. She starts jumping around trying to fight with her Daddy in the recliner. He finally got up and played with her...of course he had to take her down eventually.

Today we celebrate "D's" Day! We enjoyed Sunday School and Church and then off to Carey Hillard's to have lunch. David LoVes Carey Hillard's but us...not so much. I was secretly hoping for Out Back my personal fav. We ran into a long lost friend and her husband. We worked together for years at DFACS and I enjoyed catching up with them. Macy layed it on thick loving on her Daddy and making him feel special today. They are best buds but she loves her Momma! We love you Daddy!

A dollar deal!

As I write this post...please do not judge...a girl has to do what a girl has to do. Before Macy I would sleep in until 10:30 or 11:00 because I liked to stay up late and sleep late. Well...that ended about 6 years ago and since then I grab sleep when I can. I haven't been sleeping good since my neck/shoulder thing so I am extremely desperate. I saw my hubby off about 5:30 and then back to sleep for me. Macy woke up at 6:30 so I sent her to the restroom and off to get something to drink and then I said...."I'll give you a $1.00 if you go back to sleep." Hee...hee she took me up on it and rubbed my shoulder, back, played with my hair, kissed me good night and we slept until 8:30. AWWWW now that's a better dollar deal than McDonald's sweet tea and I love me some McD's sweet tea.

PlS. she has temporarily forgotten the dollar but believe you me she will remember!

Art display

Remember the Midnight pottery camp? Well..they had an art display of the kids work and we finally got by there to pick them up. I must say...I was impressed. We had such fun displaying them and she had fun showing us everything, telling us how she made it and why she chose the colors. My personal favs are the flip flop and the wind chime.

Macy and I were looking for her something to wear to church tonight which was not to casual but not too dressy so...I was saving this top for her to wear at the beach 4th of July but decided this red and white skirt also from Gymboree would match perfectly. She loved the top because it was off the shoulders.

Okay...it's official, I have traded my textbooks, gradebook, lesson plans and kids for a daily routine of sleep, swim, float and do as little as nothing as possible. I even had my toes done to match my favorite hot pink float. We've also enjoyed lots of friends over to join us. We absolutely love to have people over to help us enjoy our pool. It just makes it more fun. Macy is even darker than me and I cover her down with 50 each time.

Day Camp!

I signed Macy and a friend up for day camp at Midnight Star Pottery in Richmondhill this week. I had heard from some others that is was an awesome camp. She went every day this week from 10 - 1 and she loved it. They made 3 things every day and she even got to spin a pot on the pottery wheel. I got a climpse of the stuff she made a little at the time but they are going to have an "Art" showing next week after everything has been heated up. I can't wait to see how it all turns out. Today was the last day and they made a shaving cream art something and then let the kids play in the water sprouts in the square next door. I got there early in hopes to see them playing but they had already finished. They only have the camp for 4 weeks and they allow 25 each week. We can't wait till next year!

P.S. Do you wonder what I did all week for 3 hours?

As I was reminded lately...I don't post often enough. Well...after several days have passed and I now have my house clean, pool clean, (thanks to David) and Summer as begun, maybe I can start posting again. The last week of school was so busy that I didn't have a chance to post the awards ceremony. Macy got an ABC award and an award for her class media project. I was also proud of her for reaching her AR goal all 4 nine weeks and she had over 40 points. I am so proud of her! I can't believe I have a first grader! I thought I would also include a field day picture..she looked super cute with her piggies. I am so glad she still lets me put them in her hair. I didn't get to see much of field day since I was running my own events but Granny got to watch her. I could see her but didn't bring my extra long lense so I didn't get any good pictures.

Onion Festival

We had a great weekend this weekend with Mom and many of my family members. We had family come in from Florida and we celebrated Mom's birthday and Mother's Day. I didn't get a lot of pictures from the festival because it was just too hot for me. I only stayed about an 1hour and that is all I could take.

We had a greaet easter! Things started early this morning when Macy woke early to see what the easter bunny brought her. She woke up every hour since 3 am and said...is it time? I finally couldn't hold her off any longer at 7:00. She loved all of her stuff and was so attached to the new bucket I bought that she insisted using it to egg hunt. She has several other baskets that are much smaller but she insisted. I think it slowed her down but she managed. We ate with our friends, Jeannie, Scott and Shelby and family. This was our second annual "Sainz" easter lunch and it was great. Mom joined us at church and then for lunch and we sure enjoyed spending time with her. (LOVE some Granny)

Since the weather has been warm I decided Macy should have a new bathing suit. She has been driving me crazy to "lay" out by the pool but when she went to get her bathing suits from last year they were awful tight. She did manage to get into one but I was seeing a lot of cracks...if you know what I mean. So after our weekly trip to Wally World in which she did help me pack the buggy and actually load it onto the belt at Wally World. (this is a new thing for her) I complimented her on being such a good helper that she is really into it now. However, when we got home she grabbed her bag and took off. Before I could get the groceries in she had the thing on and was riding in her jeep. I must say it was too cute. She wore it for more than an hour but decided the sand gnats had too much skin to chew on. When her Daddy got home she modeled for him while I prepared her bath. I went out of the bathroom only to return to her trying the bathing suit out in the tub. Take notice of the pair of shoes on as well...I have no idea where she was going with that??

Hot Bath

We have a large jetted tub in our bathroom that I don't use very much because I have to clean it. Macy gets excited about it and begs to take a bath in it. We came home the other day and she said, "Mommy I want to take a hot bath." I thought the child was cold or something, so I said sure. She begins to jump up and down and then I realize she meant in the hot tub as she thinks of it. I didn't have the heart to take back my yes. So for 3 nights in a row she took a bath in the "hot bath" tub. As long as it has been used, I don't mind repeated bathing. BUT when I clean it she will get a no for the next few times.

UPS

The UPS man came this weekend and everyone but Daddy loves to see him come. I love it because I get something new, Macy loves it because it is usually for her and there is always a box involved. Daddy doesn't like to see him because it means I have spent some money. The UPS man knows us by name, sad ugh? After I unloaded the box I left it in the living room temporarily until I felt like carrying it outside. I was involved in the computer and not paying much attention to my child who I thought was watching TV. I look up and I find her curled up in this box. She played with this box for about an hour and then was back up to it the next morning. She pretended it was her house and I would have to knock on the door....doesn't matter she has a playroom full of toys, this box was the best.

Macy woke up today to an upset stomach. She threw up first thing this morning (thank goodness it was in the hall on the way to the bathroom and not on my carpet) I got her cleaned up and back to bed and then she woke up at 7:00 to the poops. And just let me say I mean the poops....I was asleep (aware that she got out of bed but not ready to wake up) She was in the bathroom a long time and then she came to the door crying..."Mommy I'm sorry but I got poop on the carpet." I was awake then...jumped up thinking she had pooped in her room going...where? where? Okay..yes I do freak out at the thought of something on the carpet) I then followed her in the bathroom to find poop everywhere, on the floor, on her clothes, on a bath cloth she tried to wipe everything up with, down her leg, on the toilet. OKAY, I am up now! Bless her heart and she is just saying, I'm sorry Mommy I didn't mean to. I felt so bad because I guess I do fuss at the poor thing when she spills things. I helped her get a shower and cleaned up her mess and put her back to bed with a cup of water and cartoons. She immediately wants to call Granny...she can fix anything. She cries on the phone and says..."Granny come see me!" Mom tells her no since she has started cleaning her house but calls back ten minutes later and says she can't stand to hear her cry. I was glad since I love to have my Mom visit. She rocks Macy and fixes her the best grits ever. By the afternoon she is feeling better and we all take a walk on this beautiful day. I had alraedy planned to grill ribs since that is Macy's favorite and one of Daddy's too. He had to work today so I was grillin by myself. Macy hadn't eaten much all day but she managed to eat 4 ribs. (not at one time) And she doesn't always clean them really good. I warned her not to eat too much since her stomach ache might come back but she was willing to take the risk. I couldn't resist but to take a picture.

When we were in the mountains at Christmas we came across this old country store. It was a cool place and had everything you could think of. It was quite the hot spot since there were so many people it was wiggle room only. They had one room of old time candy, one room of clothing and David and Macy's favorite room was a room of toys. David found an old wooden airplane he claims he used to buy at the dime store for a dime. (I think he is dreaming) Well we bought it and let me just say it wasn't a dime. He put it together last weekend and they got out and tried to fly it. It was hilarious because it took them several tries but he finally got it going. I don't know who had the most fun, him or her.

Horsin' Around with Daddy!

One of Macy's favorite things is to horse around with Daddy. When she hears him come home she usually runs and hides so he can find her. If he doesn't look for her immediately (Mama does get some attention first sometimes) she will yell from where she is "Daddy come find me!" He usually yells and stomps his feet...fee fi fo fum..I smell the breath of a little one! It is so cute and she almost always starts giggling before he gets to her. Then they tussle on the floor. (when it comes to his little one...3 back surgeries or not he can crawl on the floor)....it's getting up that catches him.

I have so much to post that I will start with the oldest first. We went to a birthday party for the "boys" a few weeks ago. It was Macy's first bowling experience and she had a great time. She was very clingy since it was a new experience and a little frightening. I wasn't really happy about having to put bowling shoes on her but I made sure she wore good socks so we didn't get foot germs. I had already warned her that she would have to wear them so I wouldn't have drama. Judy and the boys put on a great party, we really enjoyed it.

David doesn't eat many sweets (unlike me!) He does like something sweet on Sunday afternoons and one of his favorites is pear cobbler. I read Jane's recipe for cobbler and decided to give it a try. 100th Day of School!

Yesterday was the 100th day of school. Macy had to cover a hat with 100 things. She managed to put about fifty of the hearts on the hat and then Momma had to step in. "Aunt" Kellie made her the cutest bow to go on it and it was complete. She was worried yesterday morning that somone else would use hearts for their hat but that didn't happen...it was a success!

We've been home the last two days because Macy is sick. She threw up and had a headache at school on Thursday and then after we got her home she started running a high fever. I was up off and on all night Thursday night with her. It was still high on Friday so I stayed home and took her to the doctor. By the time we got to the doctor she had broken out into a rash on her neck, stomach, feet and head. The doctor said she had scarlett fever..okay am I the only one that thought that didn't exist anymore? Well it is caused from a strep infection and comes on quickly. I got upset since people used to die from that but he assured me that didn't happen anymore and that I just needed to be sure I gave her the antibiotics like clock work 2 times a day and for the exact time frame given. She ran a fever all of yesterday and even into the night but today she is finally feeling better. She didn't eat for 2 days and hasn't eaten much today but knowing my child that will come soon. So...I am forced to stay inside and clean house!! In between I have to play barbies, blocks and school.(i get enough of that in the real world) but she likes it.

We had a great vacation but I must say it was COLD! We had some beautiful scenery to take pictures but it required me to get out in the cold, stand, fight the wind and clumps of snow, fall, fall some more,and fuss at Macy to look at the lense of the camera not everything else. Boone had gotten over 18inch of snow a few weeks ago and it was still on the ground but it was hard and slippery. Our cabin was next to a beautiful waterfall and David wanted me to hike down the side of a mountain to take some pictures. He hicked down and made a path for me and Macy to follow. Well...half way down I slipped and I rolled and rolled and came up with snow all over me and screeming like crazy. He, thank goodness, was not quick enough to get that photo shot. I went inside and changed and he carried Macy down that same embankment and took some pictures. Don't know why he didn't carry me!!?

The first night on vacation Macy and I came in from downstairs and found both beds full of presents. Aunt GG and Pop Pop (that's what she calls Scott). They are her godparents and they sooooo spoil her. I also got my present from David a Wii. He employed Scott and Jeannie to help him out and I must admit I was a little disappointed all the way to Boone that I didn't get what I wanted. I had asked for a Wii since the Summer when Jeannie got one and we've been playing with them at their house. I plan to get the Wii fit to got with it so maybe, just maybe, I will exercise some. Sounds good, right?

Christmas at the Fennells

I have been so busy that I didn't even publish about Christmas. We had Christmas at Grandma Joyce's on Christmas Eve with all the Uncles, Aunts and cousin Micah. Macy had a great time and she enjoyed all of her stuff. Grandma got her a pink netbook computer and she was shocked and extremely pleased. The last picture is when she realizes it is a "real" computer.

Day 1 and 2 of vacation

We got to Boone about 3:30 only to find that everything was iced over. Snow on the ground and crazy cold. The locals said it was the worst they have had in decades. We were to have Christmas dinner with my Aunt but there were trees down on her street so we couldn't even get to her house. She was also out of electricity so no turkey for us. We checked in our hotel and ventured out to find something to eat. We ended up at a Chinese restuarant with 1000 other tourists. I mean it was wall to wall. We are now in our cabin and it is beautiful here. We only stayed in the motel one night since we couldn't check into the cabin until today. We will try the slopes tomorrow, wish me luck! No, scratch that pray for me. I haven't taken very many pictures yet but here are a few.

Maybe you can guess from the outfit we are going to the mountains this week. We are going with some friends to Sugar Mountain and will try out snow sledding. Notice I did not say skiing since none of us know how. I may try the bunny slope with Macy but we will see. We are excited since this will be Macy's first time seeing snow. I was rushing around on the internet on Thursday trying to find her a snow suit. It is hard to find a 4t and pink! Her response was is it supposed to be poochy...translation bulky.

Christmas Cantada

Yesterday was our church cantada and the children had a part. Macy had a small speaking part and I must say I was one proud Mama. Granny came and watched and then we took her out to lunch. I must say it was a great day. Doesn't she look like an angel?

Look Mom, no training wheels!

Today Macy faced her fear and rode her bike without training wheels. I had to run behind her numerous times before she would try it on her own. We are so proud of her! She recently asked us for a new bike and I reminded her that she got a new bike last Christmas...so she asked her Daddy expecting to get a big YES! But he told her No unless she learned to ride without training wheels. SO, I think this was the factor which gave her the push she needed. Granny taught her to ride a bike when she was 3 and she has been riding like crazy ever since. Last year when she got her big girl bike we thought she would want to take the training wheels off but no way. David did lift one so that she would learn to balance it some on her own a few months ago. You will notice in some of the pictures she had to check her heels to make sure she didn't have a boo boo. She is still a little wobbly on the stopping.

God Built a Bridge with three nails

I've been so busy this week that I haven't had a chance to sit down and blog. It seems time flies when we are home. I must say I got everything done at home I wanted. I had planned to go to the school at least one day and get some cleaning done and work done for the next three weeks but that didn't happen. I have always been ready to go back but not his year. I also didn't get to blog about what I was thankful for. I am so thankful for my husband, daughter, mother and good friends. There are lots of other things I am thankful for as well, good health, prosperity, my church family and to Jesus for his mercy. The title of this blog is God built a bridge because David was asked by one of the ladies at church to build 2 crosses for the church Christmas decorations. I pictured in my mind 2 boards...made like a cross. Well I should have known that David just couldn't build it simple. He cut the crosses out and then trimmed them all the way around with individually cut pieces to match to shape of the cross. It did turn out beautiful, I thought. He also ask me to write on the back...God Built a Bridge with just three nails. He said he saw that saying some where and it made him think of the cross. I am so thankful that God sent his son so that we may have everlasting life.

My child finds many things to keep herself occupied in the afternoons. I usually come in and begin to pick up, cook and get a few things done around the house and she would prefer to play than have to help pickup. She found a corner of the kitchen to set up her afternoon activity and I look over to find her snuggling with the Snuggle fabric softener bottle that I had just purchased. She was so excited at the store at the cute pink curved bottle and insisted I buy it. However, I didn't know she would use it for a baby. You all know that this princess must have 6 or 7 babies and many more barbies and so many stuffed animals that I threaten to throw half of them away once a month. So, I ask...Why buy a doll when you have the snuggle bottle to play with? I thought I would give my friends a laugh on this Friday...eve to our much needed week off.

We actually had time to take a picture on Sunday. That is a rare thing around our house because someone is always running late. It is usually me but Macy does her share to slow me down. Daddy on the other hand can watch TV until the last few minutes and then manage a shower, shave and still beat us into the car. This past Sunday was my Sunday to work in Children's church so I don't usually insist that Mae wear a dress since we usually paint, crawl around on the floor or something exciting.

Friday night was trick or treat at our house and we decorated the golf cart and took off around 7:00. We started out with the neighbors for pictures and exchanging treats. We were lucky to have Granny come this year and even talked her into staying the night! Saturday was a busy day since we had church Fall Festival and then trick or treat at GG's house in Richmondhill. We had a nice dinner with them and then off to gather treats again. Macy had some more friends this time and I loved to hear her squeal as she took off towards each house.

We got home on Thursday to find Daddy already carving a pumpkin. He carved one pumpkin and saved one for Macy. He had it ready for her to see so of course as soon as she got home he got busy on another one. She wasn't really feeling like taking the yucky stuff out. The one that is a little weird looking is the one Macy carved. He let her draw the face and help cut out. He wanted her to have all the fun and she did!

Can you guess who got a new outfit? I had to go to Savannah after school today and I can't pass the mall without checking out at least one store. I don't like printed tees but I thought this was kinda cute and we need something for Saturday. The girl wanted a pair of shorts but I put both of my feet down and told her she had to find a pair of jeans that would work for her. She is so tiny but kinda long legged that she needs a 2t in the waist and hips and a 4 or 5 in the length. So this is a 4t and it works! I wanted to jump up and down but I said it was cute and everyone was happy. Can you imagine us shopping for jeans when she is 15? You will probably hear over the mall intercom....2 females screeming on isle 5 , please send security.

Drama or Queen?

Sundays are always busy for us, sunday school, church, lunch and playtime. Macy is slowly giving up her afternoon naps..(ugh....I still need mine) So after lunch we played until about 3:00 when our neighbor called and they started to play. An hour at our house then an hour over there. About 5:30 I insisted she come home and let me just say she was a bear! She came in slinging clothes and shoes and crying....no screaming. After some calming techniques, which did not work, she crawled in the bed and began to say...Mommy, my eyes hurt. This is what she has said since she was 2 when she gets over tired. She likes a bath cloth to put over her eyes. So, I ask is she a Drama Queen or just Queenie!

Another Saturday of Funnel Cakes and Fall Fun!

I think Fall is my favorite time of the year! I took Macy and her friends to Wally world and then to The Bamboo Farm's Fall Festival. It was fun to see the girls enjoy the festivities. We left home in long pants and a t-shirt but as soon as we got to Wally World we had to hit the reduced rack and find something cooler. Of course it was pink, not orange, like I would have hoped. I found some cute bows to buy and we had funnel cake and a hot dog. We saw several of our friends, a special one....Lexi Jane! What a beauty!

Macy got her first award today. She got an ABC award for behavior. She seemed nervous since she didn't smile till she saw me waiting for her at the end. I was so proud especially since my report card said the same thing every year...talks too much! I know, I know, imagine that!

The Shrimp Festival

We went to the shrimp festival yesterday and, well, it wasn't that great. It was cold, wet and stinky. The rides were terriably over priced and the games were extra from the wrist bands. We played one game that gave them one try to blow up a balloon and cost $3.00. Of course, the kids anticipated winning something but the big man behind the game was smilling and holding a wad of money so I knew it was very unlikely. The food was good and of course we had to have some funnel cake! On the way out they found a face painting booth and my child wanted a heart with the words MOM in the middle...isn't this sweet?

A Nice Getaway!

We spent last night at Jekyll. It was kind of a last minute decision and a surprise for Macy. The girl loves to stay in a motel. I can really relate to TD in that I hate to pack to go away even for a night. So...I was determined not to pack much and I wasn't thinking we might take some more pictures since we took a ton in July. We were spying on a wedding on the beach when David and I decided it would be a great place to snap some photos. Him being a guy he didn't really understand that I didn't bring anything fabulous for Macy or really any of us since we were only staying for the night. I did manage to get some great shots of him and Macy (caught their beautiful eyes) and the group shot of course somebody was not looking straight ahead or someone elses eyes were closed. I can't blog long got to get ready for the painters tomorrow...yes! I get new paint all 3 rooms and can't wait. Of course new paint means new paintings and maybe a rug or 2.

A Never ending situation....

Do you ever feel like a situation will never end? Kind of like a tough piece of meat that you just can't chew enough to go down! As they repaired my ceiling, they had to tape around the top so none would get on the walls or floor. They had plastic from ceiling to floor and even all over the floor. Well the painters tape they used pulled off the trim around the top of the ceiling. They of course wanted to paint right away but my house hasn't been painted since it was new so they will have to come back. I am not too upset since I have been wanting to paint the living, dining room and kitchen for some time but it is a big project. I have already spoken to their boss and he is going to try to work it out that I can get all the rooms painted at maybe a 50% reduction. This may save me from having to paint. Worse case scenario they will do the trim work and David and I paint the dining room which means the living room will have to be painted as well since they are only divided by a two sided fireplace. The ceiling is fixed and looks great. This company was awesome and finished in one day.

A "Blue" Day

What was I thinking? I don't like pictures of my feet but since Lissa insisted her it goes. Macy and I went to have our toes done yesterday and while she was picking out blue for her fingernails I found a color I thought would be cute. Well...as soon as they put it on I knew better but wouldn't say anything. My day yesterday was quit stressful so I guess I had a temporary lapse of judgement. Macy thought Mommy was cool but later told me and I quote her...."Mommy it is a little much."

A Mess!

Today is my first day of a mini vacation and I am in charge of the renovation...remember the hole in my ceiling? Well...at 8:00 this AM they showed up to fix my ceiling. I sent Macy over to the neighbors to play for the day and David stayed long enough to give them instructions (how he wants it done the "Fennell" way) and about 10:00 he left to shoot birds in G-ville. I am held up in the back bedroom trying to stay away from the smell and mess. They have it closed off like a HZMAT area but I can tell it is a mess and it smells a little like new construction. I gave up on cleaning until afterwards. (it was a good excuse) I guess I will get my papers graded and lessons done for next week. I think we will go to the beach tomorrow and maybe spend the night. David has worked so much lately that it seems we haven't seen him and he has 2 more days free. He loves to bird hunt so I didn't even fuss about the bird shoot today. But I told him tomorrow and the next day belong to his girls.

On Tuesday afternoon Macy calls her Granny (she dialed it herself) and asked if her Granny could come to eat lunch with her. She even put in a pretty please with sugar on top. Granny told her she would think about it (translates...if it doesn't rain) She doesn't like to drive when its raining because of her eyesight. They had a great lunch and Mom said she must have been too excited to eat because all she did was smile, talk and hug her. It warms my heart at their bond. I am so blessed that she was able to keep her for 4 years because they have a bond Macy will never forget. AND Granny is pretty awesome!

Last Saturday was my Aunt Arlene's 80th birthday. She is my Mom's oldest sister and we were invited to a Luau in her honor at their pond house. Some of my favorite memories are the times we spent at the cabin. They live in the back woods of Springfield on my Uncle's family farm so we would ride 4-wheelers, fish and run in and out of the woods scaring each other during these events at the pond house. Macy doesn't get to see her Springfield cousins that often so it took her a while to warm up to them. After about an hour they were running and playing just like we all used to do. It warmed my heart to see her laughing and running around outside with her cousins. The food was great and it was good to catch up with everyone. Aunt Arlene had a fabulous time and got a new ride. A fabulous looking golf cart to play on. Of course all the kids had to pile on and they even got in a 4-wheeler ride.
