Macy has a new BFF. She and Madison have found that they have a lot in common. She has come to visit several times lately and they have had a fabulous time.

Happy Birthday Aunt Arlene

Last Saturday was my Aunt Arlene's 80th birthday. She is my Mom's oldest sister and we were invited to a Luau in her honor at their pond house. Some of my favorite memories are the times we spent at the cabin. They live in the back woods of Springfield on my Uncle's family farm so we would ride 4-wheelers, fish and run in and out of the woods scaring each other during these events at the pond house. Macy doesn't get to see her Springfield cousins that often so it took her a while to warm up to them. After about an hour they were running and playing just like we all used to do. It warmed my heart to see her laughing and running around outside with her cousins. The food was great and it was good to catch up with everyone. Aunt Arlene had a fabulous time and got a new ride. A fabulous looking golf cart to play on. Of course all the kids had to pile on and they even got in a 4-wheeler ride.

Guess who was here... I don't really like how the header turned out, but I'll have to visit it later (when I get some inspiration).

Saturday Fun!

Macy and the neighbor's girls Caroline and Caitlin played at our house today. Their Mom had to work so I was in charge of the crew. They played really good for about two hours then they began to look for something else to do. Somehow they came up with the idea to have a lemonade stand. I agreed since we have tons of golf carts on the road and some pretty cool neighbors. David set the table and chair up and I made the lemonade. They got so excited when cars would stop they would all jump up and down and scream. The fun lasted about an hour and half and then the little girls (Mae and Caitlyn) decided to go swim. They had made $10 and that was good for them. Caroline hung on and made another $13.

A Special Gift!

Macy got lots of things for her birthday and we appreciate all of them. She is a blessed little girl. She received one very special gift from her Godparents, Jeannie & Scott. Jeannie and I had been talking about how hard it was to find cute hairbows for Macy and that when her baby, Shelby,(our college girl now) was little she made her bows herself. So, after work each night for a week she worked on bows for Macy's hair. She even made the bow hanger for them. She tied so many that her fingers hurt. Macy had such fun this week going over and picking out a bow for her hair. She wore a different one each day. Thanks, G..G! We love you guys!

A Birthday Bash!

It has been a busy week with the first official week of school. I was so tired when I got home, after I cooked supper and did a little around the house, I just couldn't fit in any blogging. So...I am going to catch up now. First, Macy had a great time at her birthday party last Saturday. She spent the night at Grannys so I could work, work, work. I went to bed at 12:00 and got back up at 3:30 only to finish cleaning, working on gift bags and decorating. We had about 30 people with about 11 kids. We rented a slide that the kids really enjoyed. Macy had no idea so when she got here Sat. morning she was soooo excited. David grilled chicken and hotdogs and we had pasta salad, beans, potatoe salad and chocolate delight for the adults. Everyone stayed and swam and even the adults got on the slide. I was wore out from being up so late and then going up and down on that slide that I had to use the heating pad on my back that night. Here are a few pictures. It was all worth it to see Macy enjoy her family and friends.

A True Southern Girl!

Today was Macy's first day of Kindergarten and we started the day off running late! (shocker) We all over slept and I had to jump out of bed and run to get ready. I woke her up and said..."we are running late, get dressed! I ran back in wrapped my arms around her and said and Happy Birthday!" She was so excited she had her clothes on and hair brushed before I got out of the shower. AND a true southern girl must wear some pink even with a uniform. She had one little episode of being scared and cried just a little bit on the way to school but she quickly got over it. We got to school in time that I could walk her down and take some pictures. She has a sweet little teacher, Mrs. Spurlin. She is going to to a wonderful job with Macy and we are very excited to have her. "Aunt" Lissa and "Aunt" Kellie made her day special and brought her some gifts. (thanks Lissa for the finger nail polish....oh let me see what I can get Matty Matt for his B-day!) Thanks to both of you for making her day special. I am posting two first day pictures and a picture of her crib. I recently put that crib away since she was turning 5 I thought it was time. The picture is of one of the sides of the crib where she obviously chewed on the crib. I was mortified at the time since I thought surely there was something in that paint that would hurt her but I guess the crib makers anticipate things like this. I guess she would stand up and entertain her self by sharpening her teeth. I saved that crib to use one day for her kids and they can see all the teeth marks! Happy Birthday baby!
