It's Over!
Well summer break is finally officially here for us! Today was sort of busy. The extra day was kind of nice since it gave me plenty of time to finish everything. I certainly wouldn't want them to know that because I don't want to work an extra day next year but since we had to do it I made the best of it. I was able to leave on time or early all week. Our staff lunch was delicious. My pasta salad was a hit but there were some left since someone else also brought pasta salad. My friends and fellow staffers love my desserts so I guess next time I will bring something sweet. Macy loves that pasta salad so she was way happy that some was left.

Pasta Craze
Okay, 2 post tonight. Shock! As some of you know, tomorrow is our staff pot luck. I always bring a dessert so today I decided I was not going to bring a dessert. I thought I would make it simple and bring a pasta salad. Well, I boiled the noodles and then sat down to watch a movie (Bride Wars, cute movie). I sneak and watch chick flicks when the big "D" is asleep. Wild woman I know. Then I started cutting up the tomatoes, etc. and decided I could have baked a cake or something and been in the bed by know. I wanted all the parts to be perfect so I cut the tomatoes carefully, cucumbers, etc. Well it looked good anyway. Off to bed!
Here it is!
Okay...Lissa this is for you! I have been informed by someone who we will leave nameless that I need to be updating this blog everyday. Yesterday was busy at work again and I left school early to attend a graduation ceremony at the Cathedrial. (will post pictures later since I forgot my camera) It was a beautiful ceremony and we finished it off with pictures by the church and fountain. Then we all went to eat at The Lady and Sons. Macy and I both got blisters on our feet since we had to park 3 blocks away and walk (very fast since we were late) two times. We were late because I spent 20 minutes trying (fighting) for a parking spot. I circled the church 3 times hoping someone would have forgotten something and just have to leave that great spot out front. No such luck, they had probably been there since 2:00. I explained to our friends, next time I come downtown they need to bring those bright orange cones and put them out front for me. When we went to the Lady and Sons I was lucky and parked across the street. Thank goodness for that since my feet were throbbing by the time we got there. We had great food and conversation and got home late. I got Macy up early this morning so she could meet Mom at school. She is staying with Granny tonight and I took full advantage with a pedi, grocery shopping and just took my time. (nobody fussing) I am missing her though. She is having a fine time with Mom in G-Ville. They visited the park, library and the Dollar Store. One more day, hip, hip, hooray. So, now, Lissa how was that post?

Rain, Rain, go away!
I am so thankful for the rain and know that some areas really need it. BUT here at the coast we have had more than our share. It has rained for 6 days straight. Bella Rose finally gave up and decided to play in the rain. I came home on Thursday and she was soaked and had obviously been out there for a while. It has been a long week at school as well. It was not enough that it was the last week of school but with the rain the kids where stuck inside which made it worse. FINALLY the last day with kids is over and I have to say this year I didn't get teary eyed. I did get sad when Macy came busting in on her last day of Pre-K with the cutest memory book her teacher had made. She had pictures from the beginning of school and I couldn't believe how much she has changed.

Rash attack!
I was called from Pre-K today to pick Macy up. She was covered in a rash/hives of some sort. The only thing we could thin that might have caused this was a trip to pick black berries with her Daddy. I don't know if it was the "wild" black berries or the bushes that surrounded them. I only had about an hour till school was over so I made her stick it out at my school. She loved being in the room since she likes to play she is in charge. Anyway, she came home and tried to swim in the pool but quickly got out, screaming no doubt because her welps were bigger. I gave her an oatmeal bath and rubbed her down with more benadryl cream. I had to chase her because the cream made them burn. This treatment followed up with some benadryl
A Rainy Day!
We visited granny earlier in the week and boy did Macy have fun. It started with taking a walk. (while I graded my mountain of papers) Then, she had a bath with Granny's special disappering soap. Then, it started to rain as they were sitting on the porch. The next thing I know Macy is running around in the rain and spraying the water hose....The things a granny will let you do! I went out and expressed my concerns for her playing in the rain. Mom assured me she would be fine. I can remember playing in the rain in Miami in streets that would hold water and we would sail across the flooded streets on homemade surf boards. So, I couldn't make too much of a fuss. Anyway, she then had to have another bath and she cuddled up with Granny to read a book. I managed to grade all of my papers!
